The Presidential Election Petition Court on Thursday in Abuja fixed May 18, 2023 for hearing of a motion on notice seeking live telecast of the proceedings of the Court.

The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar alongside his party, filed the motion.

At Thursday’s proceedings, counsel to Atiku, Chief Chris Uche, SAN told the Court that the motion filed since May 7 has been served on all the respondents.

He however said that none of the respondents namely the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have not responded to the motion.

Tinubu, represented by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN promised to file his response just like Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, SAN who stood for INEC and Charles Edosomwen, SAN who represented the APC.

Chairman of the Court’s panel, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani fixed Thursday May 18 for hearing of the motion.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Election Tribunal has fixed May 18 for further pre-hearing session in the petition of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar against the election of BBola Tinubu.

Just like that of Peter Obi and Labour Party, Atiku’s petition was adjourned at the instance of lawyers in the matter to enable them put their house in order on various issues relating to the petition.

His lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche, SAN informed the Court that all the lawyers jointly agreed to next week Thursday return date to allow their teams sort out documents to be tendered during hearing of the petition.

Following no objection from Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN who stood for Tinubu, Charles Edosomwen, SAN who represented the All Progressives Congress APC and Abubakar Mahmoud who stood for the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani shifted the matter to May 18.
