The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, were conferred with national honours by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.
Four days to their assumption of duties, Tinubu was awarded the highest national award of Grand Commander of the Order of Federal Republic reserved for Presidents, while Shettima was awarded the second highest national honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
The awards were bestowed on the duo by the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari at an investiture ceremony.
Buhari also officially handed over transition documents at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja where the investiture ceremony was also held.
