A man suspected to be mentally unstable, but yet to be identified, has killed a 17 -year-old student in the Arogbo axis of Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The JSS 3 student identified as Beke Meretighan was writing the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination popularly known as Junior WAEC, at Ijaw National High School, Arogbo when he was attacked by the mad man.
Eyewitnesses account of the incident disclosed that the enraged madman found his way into the school premises after the students had allegedly mocked him.
The students ran helter-skelter as the suspect forced his way into the classes where they writing their examination.
Meretighan who could not run fast was caught by the suspect who placed his head under his armpit before strangling him to death, an eyewitness recounted.
Several efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, for comments, proved abortive as her line was not connecting.
However, a text message sent to her mobile phone was yet to deliver as at the time of filing this report.
