A total of 57 households victims of the devastating flood that occurred on June 23, 2023, at TradeMore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, have received N250,000 each as a support from the Renewed Hope Initiative, led by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

During a brief event, the First Lady’s representative, the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima expressed heartfelt sympathy for the unfortunate incident.

Mrs Tinubu, in a statement issued on Thursday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi disclosed that though there was no assurance that this kind of incident would not reoccur since the rains were not yet over, she hoped the outreach and intervention of the Renewed Hpoe Initiative would go a long way in reducing their pains at this time.

The First Lady emphasized that even though the initiative is still in the process of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, she could not ignore the dire situation in TradeMore Estate, as it falls within her jurisdiction.

Chairman of the Resident Association, Dr. Adewale Adenaike conveyed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries.

He extended heartfelt appreciation to Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiative for their kindness and support during this challenging time.

Credible News reports that at least 116 houses at the popular Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Federal Capital Territory, were submerged while property worth hundreds of millions of naira was damaged in a heavy downpour.
