The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley shortly after his arrival in Lagos from an overseas tour.
The Marlian boss was arrested in connection with investigations on the death of singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer confirmed the development on his verified twitter page on Tuesday.
He wrote: “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities…”
Before his arrest, the singer announced via Tweet on Tuesday that he had arrived Lagos to assist in the ongoing probe of the death of his former signee, MohBad.
He wrwte: “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole.
“I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
