An Abuja-based musical label, 99 Records, has signed another musical artist, Boi Dre, barely a year after it signed its first act, Santa Dinero.

99 Records, which is reputed for its zeal to propel new artists in the country, signed Dinero as a rookie last year, and in the space of one year, the signee is now making waves in Nigeria’s musical world.

The new signee, Shederack Allanan hails from Nasarawa State and has a contract tenure of four and half years with the record label.

While Boi Dre signed for himself, the Chief Executive Officer of 99 Records, Mr. Chucks Ogbolu, and the company’s General Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Cidy, who doubles as the Artist Manager, signed for the record label.

Boi Dre, who started off his career as a gospel singer, promised to give his fans the best they deserved.

“I feel wonderful because this is a very big opportunity for any of us out there to get signed into a musical label like 99 Records. I’ve been into gospel music before switching to secular music. I started my music in 2012 and switched to secular genre in 2019.

“I just want you to expect me there, there is a huge capacity. Yes, there is something greater than me. I don’t want to sound like any usual person. Expect me. It means I want something. So expect something good.

“Let’s see before the end of this year, I will drop something unique because I have to sell myself out there. I don’t need to feature anyone else. I need to give people the impression that I have something to offer so that next time if I drop anything, people will rush my work’’, the elated Boi Dre said.

Cidy, who is also known as Sir Cidy, the Mayor of Alabama, said the company settled for Boi Dre because he is one of the best artists around, and expressed the confidence that with his talent, he would dominate the musical space.

Cidy also dispelled the insinuation that Abuja artistes cannot dominate Nigeria’s entertainment, adding that with adequate engagement with the fans and professional promotions, entertainers in the city centre would reign like their Lagos counterparts.

“It’s a four-and-a-half-year contract he signed, and we have another artist already signed to our Record Label. His name is Santa Dinero. So, we plan to have more artists and showcase more talents.

“Currently, the other artist is actually working on a single which is coming out on the 15th of this month”, Cidy disclosed.
