President Bola Tinubu has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Olasupo Olusi as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry, BOI.

Dr. Olusi’s tenure is set for an initial term of four years, an announcement that has already stirred a ripple of anticipation and optimism throughout the financial sector.

The revelation of this significant appointment was made through a press release issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

This critical decision follows the voluntary resignation of the former BOI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olukayode Pitan.

A notable figure in the world of economics and development finance, Dr. Olusi has devoted two fruitful decades to his role as a World Bank economist and expert.

His wealth of experience was further underscored by his role as the economic adviser to the then Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance between 2011 and 2015.

Dr. Olusi’s educational background is nothing short of illustrious. An alumnus of Hull University, United Kingdom, he holds a Masters degree in International Money, Finance, and Investment.

Moreover, he earned his Doctorate in Finance & Economics from Durham University, United Kingdom in 2005.

Upon assuming this pivotal position, President Tinubu charged Dr. Olusi with the monumental responsibility of ensuring that Nigerians, spanning all sectors and enterprise sizes, receive fair and equitable access to the essential support needed to stimulate employment generation and wealth creation.

His mandate is especially geared towards benefiting lower and middle-income enterprise operators, thus facilitating a surge in prosperity across various income groups within the country.

This historic appointment marks a new chapter for the Bank of Industry, as Dr. Olusi’s expertise and vision promise a brighter future for Nigeria’s economic landscape.

As the nation watches with bated breath, the stage is set for a dynamic era of growth and development under Dr. Olusi’s capable leadership.
