The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party ,LP , counterpart Peter Obi.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision dismissing the petitions.
A seven-judge panel dismissed the opposition’s appeals alleging fraud, electoral law violations, and Tinubu’s ineligibility to run for president.
Atiku’s agents can only testify in polling places where they saw what they saw, not across the country where they were not present.
“I accept the lower court’s decision, which is consistent with a plethora of precedents.” The testimony of the witnesses was hearsay.”

The Supreme Court has upheld the tribunal’s decision to exclude witnesses from Atiku Abubakar’s testimony on election manipulation.
The testimony of Atiku’s witnesses was described as hearsay by the court.
“A political party cannot appoint an octopus agent who will be at every polling unit on election day,” Okoro explained.
“On the whole, having resolved all the issues against the appellant, it is my view that there is no merit in the appeal, and it is hereby dismissed,” Justice Inyang Okoro said in dismissing Atiku’s appeal.
“The judgment of the court below, delivered on September 6th, 2023, affirming the election of the second respondent as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is hereby affirmed.”
