A fire outbreak occurred in the Ladipo plank market on Iganmu Road, Orile area of Lagos State, destroying goods and property.
The fire broke out on Wednesday night, and although no casualties were reported, goods and property were damaged in the incident. Firefighters and emergency responders arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
“The market, known for its trading in building materials, became engulfed in flames due to the presence of highly combustible materials, including inflammatory wood polish, exacerbated by the dry weather conditions,” the fire service boss, Margaret Adeseye, said in a statement.
