A 14-year-old girl named Afekafe Joy has been arrested in connection with the murder of Dr. Fumilola Adefolalu, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Joy confessed to the crime and revealed that she had gone to confront the late lecturer and beat her up for sending her away. She had two of her classmates, Walex and Smart, accompany her.
However, during the confrontation, they realized that the lecturer might report them, so they decided to kill her. Joy explained that Smart and Walex attacked Dr. Adefolalu with a stool and then repeatedly stabbed her with knives until she died.
They stole her phone, laptop, and car battery before leaving the house. Joy had been living with the deceased for three weeks, but Dr. Adefolalu sent her away due to her misdeeds. The police are now searching for Joy’s friends, Walex and Smart, and the investigation is ongoing.
