No fewer than five persons reportedly lost their lives in an accident that occurred at Mpape, a settlement close to the Maitama District of Abuja, on Thursday.
It was learnt that the accident occurred when a truck conveying sand had a brake failure.
Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FCT Command, Chorrie Mutaa, stated that the corps rescue team “recovered five dead bodies and 10 injured persons”.
Mutaa added that 13 vehicles, including the truck and a motorcycle, were involved in the accident.
