The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has presented a budget of N273, 908, 997, 410bn to the State House of Assembly.

Governor Adeleke has presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill, titled “Budget of Reconstruction and Recovery,” to the State Assembly.

The budget, totaling N273,909,997,410 billion, is divided into N165,654,976,700 billion for recurrent expenditure and N108,254,020,710 billion for capital expenditure.

The focus of the budget is on rebuilding the state’s economy, reflecting the commitment to reconstruction and recovery initiatives.

“This budget presentation is in conformity with the existing laws of the State which stipulate that the budget should be presented to the House before the end of the year”.

While thanking the House of Assembly for their understanding, the Governor assured that the State would be taken to greater heights.

He also sought the support of the House in the coming years.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, expressed the readiness of the House to work with the Executive arm of government to ensure the successful implementation of the budget.

“This budget will be approved with a strong sense of responsibility.

“The Assembly will deliver a budget that addresses the challenges in the State”, Egbedun said.
