In a dramatic turn of events in Imo State, the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, vehemently denies the swirling rumors that its gubernatorial candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, has withdrawn from the race in favor of Governor Hope Uzodimma from the All Progressives Congress ,APC.

The air thickened with tension as a viral video surfaced on Thursday night, alleging Anyanwu’s exit and his purported endorsement of Uzodimma.

However, Anyanwu, determined to set the record straight, swiftly responded to the video through his spokesperson, Ikenna Onuoha, in a statement released on Friday.

He vehemently dismissed the video as nothing more than a deceitful fabrication and urged the public to discard its contents.

The statement emphasized, “Our attention has been drawn to a trending video on social media purportedly claiming that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Saturday, November 11 off-season election in Imo state, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, popularly known as Samdaddy has withdrawn.”

Describing the video as “fake, a blatant lie from the pit of hell, very mischievous, ridiculous, and misleading,” Anyanwu and his team accused outgoing Governor Uzodimma of masterminding the deceptive narrative to sway public opinion.

A closer examination of the video revealed alleged criminal edits and superimpositions, strategically crafted to align with Uzodimma’s political agenda.

Anyanwu’s camp urged the public to treat the video with skepticism, asserting that he never considered withdrawing from an election he is poised to win.

The statement continued, “Senator Samuel Anyanwu and the candidate of the PDP are a big threat to Uzodimma, who has become dried in both the physical and spiritual since Imo people started booing him.”

In a defiant stance, the statement declared that no amount of blackmail or propaganda would rescue Uzodimma from an impending defeat on Saturday.

It portrayed Anyanwu as a formidable candidate with a strong chance of victory, standing firm against the orchestrated attempts to tarnish his image.

As the political drama unfolds in Imo State, voters are left to discern the truth from the intricate web of allegations, ensuring that their voices and choices remain untainted by the unfolding controversy.
