In a significant development during the Kogi State governorship election, the Social Democratic Party ,SDP, emerged victorious at Grade 1 Area Court, Ajaka Ward 07 in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.
The party secured 111 votes, surpassing the All Progressives Congress ,APC, with 5 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, received zero votes.
The SDP candidate, Muritala Ajaka, expressed concerns about ongoing electoral malpractices in Adavi, Okene, Okehi, and Ogori Magogo local governments.
Despite praising the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, for its efforts, he called on the commission to address reported issues, including the alleged absence of result sheets in certain local government areas.
Ajaka emphasized that these concerns had been formally reported to INEC and other relevant authorities for prompt action.
