In a significant turn of events, Usman Ododo, the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ,APC, in Kogi State, emerged victorious in the polling unit of the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Bello.
The results from polling unit 11, Agassa, Okene Local Government Area ,LGA, Kogi, revealed that Ododo secured 840 votes, leaving his close challengers, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party with no votes.
Amidst an atmosphere of confidence and gratitude, Ododo praised the conduct of security operatives, acknowledging their role in ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process.
Expressing optimism about his victory, he appreciated the Kogi people for their enthusiastic turnout during the crucial exercise.
Earlier in the day, Governor Yahaya Bello, while casting his vote at the same unit, had expressed confidence in Ododo’s potential victory. Bello also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC, for the overall conduct of the election.
