The Academic Staff Union of Universities , ASUU, has instructed its members to participate in the nationwide strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress ,NLC, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria ,TUC.
The directive, issued by ASUU President Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, was conveyed in a letter to all union zonal coordinators and branch chairpersons.
The NLC and TUC had jointly directed all affiliate unions to commence a withdrawal of services, starting from midnight on November 13, 2023.
As an affiliate of the NLC, ASUU members were urged to join the action to safeguard the interests of Nigerian workers.
