Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria ,CBN, is scheduled to go on trial today for alleged offenses related to economic sabotage.
The trial will take place at an Abuja High Court and was delayed because of the nationwide strike.
Emefiele and Ramalan Yaro will appear in court today to enter their pleas, the court registrar confirmed.
His defense lawyer, Maxwell Opara, also confirmed that the notice of arraignment had been served.
Emefiele will be brought to court by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Matthew Burkaa, who signed an undertaking to ensure his presence during the trial.
Recall that Justice Olukayode Adeniyi had last week granted Emefiele bail.
He ordered that he should be released immediately to his lawyers, who are charged with the responsibility of producing him in court for his arraignment.
