Nigerian and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, is reportedly one of the three strikers on Chelsea’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window.

Osimhen scored 31 goals in total last season, leading Napoli to the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years, and he has continued to play well so far this season.

The Evening Standard disclosed that the Blues have the greatest interest in Osimhen. This is because, after a mediocre start to the season, Chelsea’s coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has identified that the club’s major issue is converting chances.

They are also considering signing Brentford forward Ivan Toney, who could cost them £100 million, and 18-year-old Antonio Nusa of Club Brugge.

Nusa, despite having only seven goals in his career, is one of Europe’s most highly anticipated wonderkids and has already made four appearances for Norway,
scoring once.

Even though all three would present different qualities and chances, Osimhen sticks out as he was one of Europe’s best strikers in the previous season.

The Nigerian forward is recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during the October international break. He has scored six goals in Serie A this season.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League before the current season started, and he recently discussed how much he admired the league as a child.

With his current contract at Napoli expiring in 2025, there has been talks to extend his stay at the Diego Maradona Stadium until 2026.

It was gathered that Chelsea won’t decide on a January transfer window until mid-December, so Napoli will likely attempt to hold onto Osimhen through the summer.
