The Ondo State Police Command has issued a stern warning to individuals identified as political elements seeking to disrupt the peace in the state.
The police revealed that these elements were allegedly orchestrating efforts to mobilize unsuspecting youths in the state to cause chaos.
The warning from the police comes in light of an anticipated protest by supporters of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The police spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated in a released statement that specific reports indicated the intention of these sponsors to create mayhem, potentially for their own selfish interests.
In the statement, the Ondo Police Command emphasized that those involved should reconsider their actions or be prepared to face legal consequences.
The command assured law-abiding citizens of their safety as the state approaches the yuletide season.
