Four persons were unlucky when thunder struck a community in Nasarawa State.

Four died while six were left  in critical condition in an undisclosed hospital in the State.

An eyewitnesses, Mabudi said the incident took place on Saturday, at the Nasarawa garage in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State.

“I witnessed the most intense and scary thunder strike a few minutes ago here in Nasarawa.

“I was at the Nasarawa Garage getting a car fixed when I suddenly heard a loud rumble and bright light. A lot of people actually ran not knowing what it was.

“Shortly after the thunderous event, a gathering formed under a tree where it was discovered that four individuals had tragically lost their lives due to the lightning strike.

“This is the first time I’m seeing something this terrifying in my whole life”, Mabudi recounted.

The member representing Nasarawa Central constituency and Chairperson of the Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim extended her heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

Ibrahim said: “We commiserate with the families of those who lost their lives and those who sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the thunder strike in Nasarawa Garage/Mechanic workshop, Nasarawa Local Government.

“We pray that God grants those who lost their lives eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear this great loss”.
