The Police Command in Kano State has confirmed the arrest of two suspects over alleged diversion of government palliatives.
The suspects who were disclosed to be, a Senior Special Assistant, to the Cabinet Office, Tasiu Al’amin-Roba and Abdulkadir Muhammad were arrested at a warehouse at Sharada with over 200 empty bags.
The Commissioner of Police, CP, Mohammed Usaini Gumel stated that they were caught while repackaging the rice and maize at a warehouse located at Sharada adding that the command has since commenced an intensive investigation to find out how many bags of maize or rice were repackaged and sold.
The CP disclosed that the two suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
