In a heartfelt send-off ceremony held in Abuja on Sunday, ten directors at the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, bid farewell to their distinguished careers as they officially retired from service.

The retirement, based on the mandatory age of 60 or 35 years of service, marked the end of an era for these directors heading various departments within INEC.

Speaking at the event, INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Mohammed Adams, congratulated the retirees and encouraged them to view retirement as the beginning of another journey in their lives.

He urged them not to dwell on the past but to embrace the future with optimism. Prof. Adams advised the retirees to engage in meaningful activities that would bring fulfillment and good income.

Addressing the audience, INEC Secretary, Mrs. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, commended the retired directors for their hard work and dedication to service. She expressed gratitude for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavors.

Dr. Binta Kasim, the Director of Training at INEC, encouraged the retirees to pursue activities that brought them joy and cited examples of individuals who achieved significant milestones after retirement.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mrs. Blessing Obidiegwu highlighted that they represented the last batch of INEC pioneer staff.

She expressed appreciation to the commission for the opportunity to serve and advised those still in active service to continue doing their best. Mr. Chima Duruaku commended INEC for recognizing their contributions and urged the commission to build on institutional memories for sustained success.

The retirees and their respective departments are as follows:
