In yesterday’s German Bundesliga Matchday 16 match, Bayer Leverkusen defeated Bochum 4-0 at home thanks to a goal from super Eagles attacker Victor Boniface, who scored his 10th Bundesliga goal of the year.
In the final league match of the year, Bayer Leverkusen triumphed handily to maintain their four-point lead at the top of the standings after 16 games played.
Unusually for him, Boniface, who has played in every league game for his team this season, started the match on the bench, with Patrik Schick getting preference.

The striker from the Czech Republic has now caused head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso, additional selection headaches as he scored a hat trick in the first half in the 30, 32, and 45 minutes to give his team a 3-0 lead at the half.
After taking over for the three-goal hero in the 67th minute, Boniface scored the game’s fourth goal in the 69th to make his presence known.
Nathan Tella, the teammate and fellow countryman of the former Bodo/Glimt and Union Saint Gilloise striker, was not used as a substitute during the match.
