In a recent report by Numbeo, a research firm specializing in quality-of-life data, Lagos has been ranked as the 8th city with the best healthcare system in Africa.

Numbeo utilized a sophisticated algorithm to determine the rankings, with Cape Town in South Africa securing the top spot, followed by Pretoria in second place and Nairobi in third.

The rankings highlight the emergence of modern, high-tech hospitals in these cities, ensuring that residents have access to top-notch healthcare services. The analysis, based on Numbeo’s updated Health Index, indicates that African cities are performing well in terms of cost of living, quality of life, and various socioeconomic characteristics on a global scale.

The Health Care Index, a key component of Numbeo’s assessment, provides an approximation of the overall quality of the healthcare system. It takes into consideration factors such as medical experts, staff, equipment, and expenses to offer an evaluation of the healthcare resources, services, and infrastructure available in a specific area.

The acknowledgment of Lagos as the 8th city with a commendable healthcare system underscores the progress and investments made in the healthcare sector, contributing to the overall well-being of the city’s residents.

As healthcare infrastructure continues to evolve, such recognitions are indicative of the positive trajectory toward enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality in Lagos.
