Students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure,FUTA, Ondo, on Monday, staged a protest against the increase in tuition fee.
The students, who staged the protest in front of the university’s gate, said the management increased the fees by over 300 percent.
They prevented human and vehicular movement from entering the campus, insisting that the university management must reverse the hike in the tuition fee.

A circular earlier released by the institution’s management showed that the tuition was raised from N29,000 to N131,000 for the old students while the fee was raised from N108,000 to N240,000 for fresh students.
Meanwhile, heavily armed security personnel, including men of the Nigeria Police Force, State Security Service and Federal Road Safety Corps are currently manning strategic locations of the school campus to avoid breakdown of law and order.
