Bayero University in Kano State has refuted claims of a security breach, emphasizing that there has never been a case of kidnapping on any of its campuses.

The university’s Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, released a statement dismissing the “fake alarm” regarding a security threat within the institution.

The statement clarified that the university has implemented necessary measures to ensure the safety of both staff and students. Expressing concern over the fabrication of false news, the university urged the public to disregard the alleged alarm, emphasizing that the misinformation could cause unnecessary panic within the university and the wider Kano community.

“We are particularly disturbed that some heartless individuals will fabricate fake news knowing that it will cause panic not only within the university but within the Kano environment and beyond.

This response aims to reassure the university community and the public about the safety measures in place at Bayero University amid the circulating rumors.
