Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has officially bestowed the staff of office upon the new Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje.
During the vibrant ceremony held in Okene yesterday, Bello reaffirmed his dedication to supporting traditional institutions in Kogi State.
He said the incoming administration of Alhaji Usman Ododo would continue to support traditional rulers across the state.
Bello praised all the contestants for the stool of Ohinoyi of Ebira land for displaying the spirit of sportsmanship.
“I want to call on all the sons and daughters of Ebira land that we should all come together and rally round our Ohinoyi of Ebira land for the greatness, development, and security of our land.
“God Almighty has enthroned Dr. Anaje out of the 70 eminently qualified contestants. I appreciate the statesmanship and the display of maturity through the process of selecting the Ohinoyi of Ebira land,” he said. Dr. Anaje was appointed to replace the late Dr. Ado Ibrahim, who died on October 29, 2023, at the age of 95.
