The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Tuesday 30th January, 2024 at the Goodluck Jonathan International Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja, decorated thirty-five, 35, senior police officers .
The senior police officers comprised of fourteen ,14, Assistant Inspector Generals of Police, AIG and twenty-one ,21, Commissioners of Police, CP, with their new ranks amidst cheers from families, friends, and well-wishers.
The newly decorated officers include :
AIGs :
Yetunde Longe; Haruna Gabriel Garba; Tajudeen Akinwale Abass, Julius Alawiri Okoro; George Chijioke Chuku; and
CPs:Â
Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo; Mohammed Dahiru; Dankombo Faling Morris; and David Iloyanomon amongst others.
Similarly, Egbetokun has ordered the posting and redeployment of seventeen ,17, AIGs and eighteen ,18, CPs with immediate effect.

The Inspector General of Police, while congratulating the newly decorated senior officers on their well-deserved promotions, emphasizes the imperative for the newly posted and redeployed AIGs and CPs to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their respective assignments.
The IGP expresses confidence that their ardent impact would boost the endeavor for excellence in the discharge of police constitutional responsibilities.
