The Air Force Girls Alumni Association of Nigeria, AFGAAN is calling for immediate and decisive action after the tragic murder of one of its members, Mrs. Ammi Adamu Mamman.

Mrs. Mamman, a 1992 alumna affectionately known as “Ammi,” was discovered slain in her residence in Yobe State on January 4, 2024.

“We are deeply saddened and outraged by the senseless killing of Ammi,” stated Hansatu Adegbite, an AFGAAN Board of Trustees member. “Her brutal murder leaves a void in our community, and we will not rest until justice is served.”

The Yobe State police have apprehended the victim’s husband as a suspect, but the investigation remains inconclusive. AFGAAN is calling on authorities to step up their efforts and ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.

“We urge women’s groups, legal organizations, and the media to join us in demanding accountability,” Adegbite added. “This is not just about Ammi; it’s about ensuring the safety and security of all women in Nigeria.”

AFGAAN launched the #justiceforammi and #exjaw hashtags on social media, urging the public to share the story and pressure authorities to action. They also requested support from public sector stakeholders and the general public to prevent the case from being forgotten.

“Ammi deserves justice,” concluded Adegbite. “We will not let her memory fade until her murderer is brought to book and faces the full weight of the law.”
