Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate has tasked the newly appointed managers in the health sector to be faithful in upholding the laws of their respective institutions even as charged them to act with integrity to reinstall the citizen’s trust in the government.
At the inauguration of new chairpersons and chief executive officers in the health sector on Tuesday in Abuja, the minister explained that the transition was necessary to enhance growth, innovation and achieve the mandate of the President in the health sector.
Pate said: “Governance is very challenging in this context because you don’t know who is watching you. For those of you who are just coming in, as you begin the execution of your responsibility just be faithful to the law and don’t be distracted.
“Our role is to ensure and improve people’s trust in the government and such can only be achieved by maintaining the highest level of integrity.”

The Minister tasked them to embrace the true leadership which is based on accountability as they have been called to serve in public offices.
He appreciated those who served previously for leaving a legacy that can be built upon to strengthen health security in the country.
While urging the appointees to act within the confines of the law, Pate assured them of the ministry’s support in achieving the Renewed Hope mandate of the president in the health sector to ensure world class standard in public health.
In their separate remarks, the new appointees appreciated the president for the call to serve in their various capacities, assuring the government of their commitment to serve and put in their best in transforming the regulatory framework, while providing governance in the health sector.
Those bowing out equally expressed their appreciation to the government for the period they served and promised their support for the ministry.
Credible News reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last week approved the appointment and reappointment of board of chairpersons and chief executive officers in the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
The President said the appointment was in furtherance of his determination to bring world-class standards to public health administration and to manifest his commitment in delivering quality healthcare to its citizens.
