The Freehand Concept initiative has launched a training program for 22 visually impaired individuals in Birnin Kebbi, focusing on digital economy skills.
This association, comprised of blind and visually impaired individuals in the state, is dedicated to bridging the gap between the able-bodied and the physically challenged by providing vocational training in the digital economy and other social trades.
Bashar Sakaba, the state chairman, announced that the vocational training will span a minimum of four months, aiming to empower people with disabilities with essential skills and knowledge in the digital economy field.
He assured that the initial batch of 22 participants will undergo training, with subsequent batches to follow, ensuring that a significant number of disabled individuals benefit from the program.

Alhaji Muhammadu Audi, the State Chairman of Kebbi Investment, lauded the initiative as the first of its kind in Kebbi.
He pledged continued support from the investment company, emphasizing the importance of equipping the disabled community with digital economy skills to integrate them fully into society and contribute to economic growth, aligning with global trends.
