Three siblings, a boy and two girls, tragically died from suffocation in a parked car at their home in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, on Sunday.
The children’s mother, Shade Silifat, had stepped out to buy noodles for their school lunch when the incident happened. Upon return she found the children unconscious in the car, which their father had borrowed from his sister and parked within their residential quarters. she fainted as a result of the incident which took place at No 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters in Ilorin metropolis.

After noticing their shoes outside the car, Shade opened the doors and discovered the distressing scene. The children were quickly rushed to Olutayo Clinic nearby, but the medical director advised transferring them to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
Sadly, they were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The three siblings were laid to rest at the Muslim cemetery, following Islamic rites. It was a heartbreaking loss for the family and the community.
