A Sports Administrator, Mrs Clementina Doregos, says a good education with sports remain perfect tools to equip a man with needed life skills to be a world changer, formidable and perfect person.

Mrs. Doregos, the Founder of Doregos Private Academy in Lagos, emphasized the importance of sports and education in developing a well-rounded individual during a Sports Day Lecture and Table Tennis competition organized by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Oyo Chapter, in Ibadan.

In her presentation, Mrs. Doregos highlighted the connection between physical activities and academic performance, stressing that both contribute to overall health and well-being. She emphasized the need to balance education and sports to nurture a complete individual.

Education ensures intellectual growth, while sports promote physical fitness and emotional well-being. She emphasized that neglecting either aspect can hinder personal development, according to Mrs. Doregos.

Mr. Toyosi Oyetunji, a Sports Consultant, urged sports journalists to provide constructive reporting to support the growth of the sports sector in Nigeria. He expressed concern that negative reporting can harm the country’s sports reputation and deter potential sponsors. Oyetunji advised sports journalists to utilize social media platforms for positive content creation and self-improvement.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ,  Oyo State Chapter, Demola Babalola, encouraged journalists to exhibit sportsmanship in the upcoming SWAN election. He emphasized fair play and integrity in the electoral process.

Mr. ‘Niyi Alebiosu, the Chairman of OYO SWAN, commended Mrs. Doregos for her consistent support for sports development in Nigeria through sponsorship of various competitions.

The event also featured awards presentation and a table tennis competition involving journalists from different media outlets in Ibadan, Credible News reports.
