Minnesota United FC finalized the hiring of head coach Eric Ramsay on Monday, one game into the MLS regular season after the unusually drawn-out process of replacing Adrian Heath.
Ramsay will be joining the club soon once he gets his work visa. He’s from England but grew up in Wales, and he’s coming from Manchester United, where he worked as a coach under current manager Erik ten Hag.
Ramsay said he’s really excited to join a club with a strong football culture, passionate fans, and great facilities. He’s talked to many of the club’s staff and can feel their enthusiasm for moving the club forward.

Heath, the first head coach of the club when it joined MLS in 2017, was fired last October after the team missed the playoffs. Sean McAuley took over temporarily but resigned in January. Cameron Knowles then became the interim coach and led the team to a 2-1 win in their first game of the season against Austin.
Minnesota United also hired Khaled El-Ahmad as its chief soccer officer recently.
