He praised the book’s publisher for providing comprehensive details about the Hausa Kingdoms, including those in Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Zazzau.
“The book offers a clear explanation of the administrative system of governance used by each kingdom, their trades, norms, and values,” he said.
The book reviewer, Prof. Ahmed Zaria of Kaduna State University, highlighted that the 356-page book comprises seven chapters.
Zaria noted that the book provides a comprehensive narrative and history of the Hausa kingdoms, covering their politics, administration, norms, and values from inception to the present day.
He emphasized that the book is essential for students and researchers in linguistics and history.
The Don emphasized the importance of academics continuing their research activities and expressed concern over some academics who, upon attaining the professorial rank, neglect research.
The publisher, Prof. Gusau, explained that the book aimed to consolidate the written history of the Hausa Kingdoms. He noted that most research at universities focused on only a few kingdoms, overlooking others.
Additionally, Gusau mentioned that the book aimed to promote harmony and reinforce unity among the Hausa kingdoms and other Nigerian communities.
