On Wednesday, an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court remanded a 30-year-old fashion designer, Idris Adams, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s two-year-old daughter.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Bola Osunsanmi, declined to allow Adam to enter a plea. Osunsanmi postponed the case until March 28 to await legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.

Before this decision, the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, informed the court that the offense occurred on February 26. Akeem mentioned that the child underwent a medical examination at the hospital.
The offense, he stated, violated Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
