The National University of Singapore , on Monday inaugurated its artificial intelligence, AI, institute aimed at advancing research and application of AI technologies in education, healthcare, and finance.
The institute will also focus on ensuring transparency and accountability to tackle ethical concerns and risks associated with AI, as stated by the university. Researchers at the institute have secured an external investment of 8 million Singapore dollars, 6 million dollars.

The university announced its plan to invest an additional 20 million Singapore dollars ,equivalent to 14.8 million US dollars, in foundational research, policy studies, and real-world applications. This investment is intended to bolster the institute’s efforts to collaborate with government agencies and industry partners in enhancing AI capabilities across society.
