Manchester City striker Erling Haaland still envisions himself joining Real Madrid in the future.
However, Kylian Mbappe’s expected transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Los Blancos as a free agent this summer has postponed that aspiration. Haaland had initially planned to join the Spanish giants in 2025, according to ESPN.
That is no longer the case, but the 23-year-old still wants to play for Real Madrid and sees City’s Champions League quarterfinal showdown with Carlo Ancelotti’s side as the perfect opportunity to showcase his credentials for a future move. Haaland completed the full 90 minutes in both legs of last season’s semifinal against Madrid but didn’t score in either of them.

Man City are now speeding up the process of renewing Haaland’s contract, even though his current deal runs until 2027.
