Chaos and fear gripped the residents of Agojeju-Odo, a community within the Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, as unknown gunmen unleashed havoc on Friday, resulting in unspecified casualties.
The sudden invasion by the unidentified assailants has left the community reeling in shock and uncertainty, raising concerns about the safety and security of its inhabitants.
The gun-wielding men were said to have shot community members and burnt houses, Daily Post reports.

However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, confirmed the attack, adding that the state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has deployed tactical teams to the area.
“Yes, there was an attack in the village in Omala. The CP has deployed the enforcement team along with other security agencies,” he said.
Aya noted that an investigation is ongoing to “ascertain the cause of the attack and to unravel the perpetrators.”
