Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State took the initiative on Saturday to distribute food palliatives to residents across the 20 Local Governments, LGs, and 37 Local Council Development Areas ,LCDAs, of the state.
This distribution of bags of 10kg rice was facilitated through the various council chairmen of the LGs and LCDAs. The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to alleviate the economic burden faced by Lagosians, particularly in light of the high cost of living.

In February, Governor Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the state’s Special Dispensation ‘Palliative’ Advisory Committee, aimed at implementing measures to support the residents during challenging economic times.
Newsmen who toured certain local governments, including Bariga LCDA, Shomolu LGA, Yaba LCDA, and Igando-Ikotun LCDA, noticed that the activity benefited a wide range of people, including governmental personnel, the elderly, and the physically challenged.
