The Nigerian Army on Friday released the traditional ruler, Clement Ikolo, earlier declared wanted and arrested over the gruesome murder of 17 soldiers in Delta State on 14 March 2024.
Spokesman of the Army, Major General Clement Nwachukwu said though the Army has not exonerated anybody regarding the incident but decided to release the monarch after intervention of a highly placed personality in the society.

He was released to Senator Ede Dafianone who stood as a surety and testified to the decent character of the monarch.
The traditional ruler of Ewu had surrender to the police after he and several others were declared wanted by the military in connection with the killing of 17 army personnel in Okuama on March the 14th.
The police handed him over to the military and for nearly a month he has been in custody of the army.
