The reinstated Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has arrived Kano government house ahead of his presentation with a letter of appointment by the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Credible News had reported Sanusi II’s reinstatement on Thursday.

The presentation of the appointment letter, which will take place at the Government House in Kano, is slated for 10am and it will be graced by top State government functionaries and traditional rulers in the State.

The spokesman to Governor Yusuf, Sanusi Bature, said the brief event will see the governor delivering a speech to which the reinstated Emir of Kano will respond. Afterwards, District Heads and other prominent traditional title holders will publicly declare their allegiance to Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Recall that the Kano State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the amended Kano Emirate Councils Bill 2024 into law and it was subsequently assented to by the state governor, a development that restored the Kano Emirate Council to its pre-2019 status and consequently dissolved all the four new Emirates of Gaya, Rano, Karaye and Bichi.

Governor Yusuf also announced the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II to the Kano Emirate throne.

Friday’s occasion will be taking place against the interim injunction of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano, which ordered a status quo ante on the development.
