Former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson has experienced a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, his representatives confirmed.

The 57-year-old boxer became nauseous and dizzy, prompting flight staff to call for a doctor on board to assist.

Upon landing in Los Angeles, paramedics boarded the plane to provide treatment. The flight had already been delayed by two hours in Miami due to the heat.

Tyson’s representatives noted that he is now doing well, attributing the episode to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.

“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great.

“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up. He is appreciative of the medical staff that were there to help him,” his representatives stated.

Ulcer flare-up symptoms typically include nausea, vomiting, bloating, belching, gas pain, chest pain, and fatigue.

The incident occurred just two months before Mike Tyson scheduled fight  with YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul in Arlington.

The in-flight emergency was first reported by In Touch, which noted that paramedics were called to the plane upon arrival at LAX.

Eyewitnesses on the flight recounted that the cabin crew issued an announcement asking for a doctor 30 minutes before landing.

Passengers were informed about Tyson’s condition and were asked to remain on the plane after landing to allow paramedics to board.

“He was in first class, but we were in exit row.

“They asked us to stay on the plane after landing so paramedics could enter. The stewardess said something like, ‘He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.’ I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ‘Mike Tyson’ and she nodded her head yes,” an eyewitness said.

The plane was delayed for an additional 25 minutes at LAX while Tyson received medical attention.

In preparation for his upcoming fight, Tyson has temporarily given up marijuana, a substance he has admitted to using daily, as it is banned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

He has also revealed that he has abstained from sex as part of his training regimen.
