Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Junior has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season in the 2023/2024 campaign.
The award was announced by the UEFA’s Technical Observer panel on Monday.
This was following the team’s performance in the just-concluded season. Madrid edge over Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Wembley Stadium, London, courtesy of a goal from the Brazilian international and defender, Dani Carvajal on Saturday.
Júnior also turned in a series of sensational displays for Madrid across their victorious campaign, chipping in with six goals in all, including the clincher in the final against Dortmund.
“I’m very happy to be able to win another Champions League with this club, which has given me so much,” said the Brazilian international after the Wembley showpiece.
“It’s an incredible thing. Not everyone can experience it and win it so many times,” he added.
