A boat conveying some villagers fleeing from bandits in Gurmana community of Shiroro local government area of Niger state has capsize, drowning four persons.
It was gathered that the villagers had fled to an island to hide from bandits on Wednesday night, however the capsize incident occurred on their way back on Thursday after the Bandits had finished raiding the communities.

It was learnt that the villagers used to go to the island in the middle of the River on River Kaduna to hide from bandits who are usually scared of rivers.
Bandits reportedly killed three persons in the last night attacks and also rustled cattle and abducted scores in Bassa near Gurmana.
