A fire outbreak at Dangote refinery’s effluent plant was swiftly contained, the company reported on Wednesday
It was gathered that workers at the refinery ran outside the section affected by the fire, with officials of the fire service trying to put out the fire.
Reacting to the incident, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, disclosed that the fire has been contained and there is no cause for alarm.
The statement read: “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, 26th of June.

“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating normally, and there are no recorded injuries or bodily harm to any of our staff on duty.”
Recall that on Sunday, Christ Embassy Church headquarters located on Kudirat Abiola Way in Oregun area of the state was yesterday gutted by fire.
In a statement, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service director, Margaret Adeseye, said the church auditorium was found to be engulfed in flames.
She said the state’s fire fighting units from Alausa and Ikeja fire stations were promptly dispatched and arrived at the scene by 07:36 hours to put out the fire.
However, she explained that the cause of the fire was yet to be determined, and investigations are underway to ascertain its origin.
“No casualties have been reported at this time. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” she stated.
