Turkey has booked a spot in the last eight of the Euro 2024 thanks to a double from centre-back Merih Demiral in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Austria on Tuesday night.
Despite a goal from Austria’s Gregoritsch in the 66th minute, Turkish goalkeeper Mert Gunok denied a header from Baumgartner in stoppage time.
