At least 25 people have been reported dead in an accident on Tuesday along the Ojoo-Iwo Road near the Agbowo/Ajao area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Eye witnesses disclosed that a truck carrying roofing sheets collided with an 18-seater Hummer bus, a Micra taxi, and a Honda CR-V car, resulting in the loss of lives.

Rescue efforts are underway, with some passengers already extracted and rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.

It was gathered that the highway is experiencing heavy traffic congestion.

A joint effort by the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency is underway to clear the logjam and normalize traffic movement.
