The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board, KwSUBEB, in Ilorin has announced plans to hire 1,611 teaching and non-teaching staff across the state’s 16 local government areas.
The recruitment will include 695 B.Ed degree holders, 605 NCE holders, 200 security personnel, and 111 other non-teaching staff categories, according to the Board’s Chairman, Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja.
This hiring initiative follows Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s approval to fill vacancies resulting from retirements, deaths, and transfers to other states. The recruitment will be conducted at the local government level, with a community-based approach to ensure candidates are sourced from areas where their services are most needed.

Prof. Adaramaja emphasized that successful candidates will be required to sign a five-year bond to prevent transfers from their initial postings, particularly to ensure stability in rural areas. The exercise is a key part of the governor’s commitment to bolstering the educational sector in Kwara State, particularly at the grassroots level.
The recruitment process is set to last for three weeks, with specific schedules to be released soon, aligning with the upcoming 2024/2025 academic session starting in September 2024.
