The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step toward revitalizing its aviation sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with leading aircraft manufacturer Boeing.

Announced on Thursday by Tunde Moshood, the Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the agreement is set to enhance aircraft acquisition, improve aviation infrastructure, and elevate operational standards across the nation.

The signing ceremony, held in Seattle, Washington, USA, was attended by key Nigerian aviation stakeholders, including top executives from major Nigerian airlines, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and representatives from the Airline Operators of Nigeria. The MoU was signed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development and Anbessie Yitbarek, Boeing’s Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing for Africa.

Maintenance and Engineering Support- Nigerian airlines will gain access to Boeing’s extensive maintenance documents, engineering resources, and flight operations materials, which will help streamline maintenance practices and reduce operational downtimes.
